Le voile, French for veil
Veil /vāl/, (n.) a piece of fine material worn to protect or conceal the face; (v.) to cover with or as though with a veil.
Shibari (縛り), the Japanese art of decorative tying.
Kinbaku (緊縛), the Japanese art of erotic tying.
BDSM, erotic practices or role playing involving bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, sadomasochism, and other related interpersonal dynamics.

TUYET is a self-taught artist who started exploring the practice of shibari in the past year. It began as a curiosity which eventually developed into their own take on the art. Kinbaku, the erotic art of tying, and shibari, the decorative art of tying, has always been connected to the world of BDSM, with heavy focus on eroticism.

The constant visual stimulation provided by technology in this era has taken away our sense of connection and intimacy. TUYET uses rope art and fashion to not only express the fragility and strength of their own intimacy, but also to challenge society's views on intimacy.

Inspired by modern shibari artists such as Hajime Kinoko, Gestalta, and Garth Knight as well as fashion designers Guo Pei and Alexander McQueen,TUYET combines all their inspirations and their own experiences to create this temporary, interactive gallery.

LE VOILE was inspired by the veils we experience in our daily lives.
Getting caught in them.
Breaking free from them.
Admiring their delicacy.
Fearing their mystery.
Knowing their history.
