WHEN: Friday 7/27/18 6pm-9pm & Sat. 7/28/18 11am-4pm (Open House)

WHY:

It's also our GRAND REOPENING & 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Giveaways, prizes, fashion, food, fabulousness, fun & more!

ARTIST/DESIGNER STATEMENT:

I primarily make lighthearted shirt designs featuring rabbits. I choose to focus on rabbits because I love their playful and energetic nature. My shirts mostly have a theme of positivity and embracing who you are. Rather than using fonts, all of the text on my designs are handwritten to further convey the ideal that uniqueness and even imperfections are qualities to be celebrated. Above all else, I simply want to make shirts that are fun, sweet, and encourage self-love.

Le TISSU: A Slow Fashion Revolution

It's our annual Earth Day celebration💚🌱🌳! Join us for an inspiring, educational & fun day of eco shopping, eco crafting & making a difference.

"Who made your clothes?"

In our hectic daily lives, it's a simple question we all forget to ask ourselves. But when we do, a dynamic, eye-opening world of conscious fashion emerges!

Learn about the SLOW FASHION MOVEMENT & what you can do daily to counteract "Fast Fashion" - clothing that's wastefully discarded, harmful to the environment, inhumane working conditions, unrealistic designing, buying & purchasing cycles & much more. In other words, WHO MADE YOUR CLOTHES, HOW WAS IT MADE & WHERE DOES IT COME FROM? Most importantly, WHERE WILL IT END UP?

*LE FASHION SWAP - Bring up to 3 garments/outfits & shop/exchange. FREE! A stylish upcycling shopping experience for our eco-conscious shoppers

*SPECIAL GUEST **MOTH & RUST** (Moth and Rust) Local & sustainable clothing designer Leanne Dougherty shares her fashion collection & design process. Shop & be inspired!

*HAIKU Eco Fashion for Mindful Living - TISSU owner Nina Winter shares her sustainable textiles & how you can start your own fashion collection. Sewing tips included!

*Dress for Success Wichita -Donate career clothing to this local gem helping women live the life of their dreams. Needing colors, pastels, florals, clothing that's Springy & Summery (pssst...for a special green project!)

*GREEN LIVING - Free seeds & gardening tips

*SLOW FOOD - Handcrafted vegan snacks w/fresh, local ingredients. FYI the Slow Food Movement inspired the Slow Fashion Movement. Wow & yummy!!!

*UPCYCLED FASHION - Ideas & fun recycled clothing projects. Bring in a garment to cut up & deconstruct

Everyday is Earth Day & yes, you CAN make a difference.💚💚💚

A Witchy EGL Tea Party by PAPERCUTE

Papercute and TISSU Studios presents a WItchy EGL Tea Party!! For all the Wichita and surrounding area EGL members new and old to come meet up for a Fall Themed Tea Party. The theme for this fall's tea party is Spooky Chic. For $10, come join us for a day of fun and fashion.

Lolita Fashion is a subculture that began in Japan that is inspired by Edwardian and Victorian clothing. There are many top brands in Japan as well as indie brands that have started in other countries. There are lolitas that hand make their clothes and accessories or purchase second hand items inspired by the fashion.

This will also be open to local people who are interested in the fashion and would like to participate. Note, this is not a themed costume party. If attendees do not have any lolita fashion items to wear, we recommend attendees dress in formal attire.

Decorations, food, and (non-alcoholic) drinks will be provided. At the event, it is encouraged that lolita fashion members bring any of their neglected pieces to swap or sell to fellow attendees. There will also be a raffle, games, and an outfit contest at the event. Our goal for these events are to bring together people who share similar interests to meet in person.

Again, there is a $10 entree fee to all attendees and only ages 13 and older may join.

We accept cash or card at the door.
