PATTERN MAKING lays the groundwork before sewing. There are many different pattern methods to making your own garments; choose what works for you or experiment with all. There's no right or wrong way, just YOUR way! All supplies included.
COMMERCIAL PATTERNS is catered to students new to pattern envelopes (or completely confused by them). Let's study & dissect a pattern from our extensive Pattern Library. Reading & assembling store patterns may remind you of a mathematical maze without an ending in sight. All those numbers & lines can seem daunting at first, but once you understand how to translate them, it'll open up a new world of sewing possibilities - sew for your children, friends, gifts, etc. The ability to read commercial patterns is a skill you can pass down to generations to come. Lessons catered to your skill level & sewing goals. Note: This is not a technical Patternmaking course.

Students will also receive a set of basic patternmaking supplies & industry grade paper (details after registration). Come to class with a readiness to learn & we'll take care of the rest. Due to the individualized components of this topic, mathematical calculations & custom fitting, it is currently offered as PRIVATE INSTRUCTION only.
