ADULT CLASSES & WORKSHOPS (AGES 16+)

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

1. An introduction to SEWING 101 - machine basics, layout & construction, textile properties, understanding commercial patterns & how to customize/resize/redesign.

2. Technical instruction to master the foundations & sewing techniques. Also perfect as a refresher class.

3. Small class sizes for an intimate learning experience. Can’t make it to class? No worries! Book a Private Appointment for one-on-one instruction, where you can bring in your own sewing machine. SUMMER DRESS 101

SAT. 6/27/26 $65

Learn how to read a commercial dress pattern & sew your own style from scratch. Please bring 2 yards of your favorite textile or cloth to upcycle into a dress. We will have a few textiles to choose from as well. This class also includes SEWING 101 to help you get better acquainted with sewing machines. Maximum enrollment: 6

SAT. 7/11/26 9AM-12PM $45 (OPTIONAL OPEN STUDIO 11AM-12PM)

Learn how to sew by designing your very first Kimono Cardigan. This flowy & loose style does not require a pattern & will give you the confidence to begin your sewing journey. Please bring 1 to 2 yards of your favorite flowy or drapey (a slight stretch) textile. We will also have a few practice textiles to choose from. SEWING 101 will also be covered such as threading machines, layout & construction & sew much more. Bonus: Stay an extra hour 11am-12pm to finish your project.

LOUNGE PANTS (Level: Beginner)

SAT. 7/18/26 9AM-12PM $50 (OPTIONAL OPEN STUDIO 11AM-12PM)

Learn how to sew a pair of elastic or zippered lounge pants. We will have several pant patterns available to practice with. Please bring a pair of your favorite pants & we’ll show you how to create a duplicate pattern as well. Student supplies: bring 2 yards of textiles or cloth to upcycle into pants. SEWING 101 will also be covered. Bonus: Stay an extra hour 11am-12pm to work on your project (optional).

BUTTON-DOWN SHIRT OR BLOUSE (Level: Beginner, Intermediate)

SAT. 7/25/26 9AM-12PM $55 (OPTIONAL OPEN STUDIO 11AM-12PM)

Learn how to sew a classic button-down shirt. Bring 1 1/2 yards to 2 yards of cotton fabric for a classic, crisp button-down or a flowy fabric for a vintage blouse. There will be opportunities to customize & design your shirt depending on your personal style. Button-downs are not challenging at all; it just requires extra patience due to the many steps & smaller sewing projects. You got this! We will have practice fabric to choose from as well. SEWING 101 will also be covered. Bonus: Stay an extra hour 11am-12pm to complete your project.

CRAFT SWAP & MAKE: TEXTILE ARTS

SAT. 7/ 25/26 2PM-4PM FREE LOCATION: ADVANCE LEARNING LIBRARY

Free community education. Join us at the Advance Learning Library for a creative & relaxing maker’s circle. Bring in your own textile crafts (or fibers) as well as a few supplies to donate/share/trade with fellow makers. We will have creative books to read from the library, music, snacks & community.
